If you are using HDMI, sometimes there can be a handshake issue or loose connection. Try replugging the cable on both ends. And be sure you have chosen the correct sound output in the Blu Ray’s set up menu.
One other thing, also be sure you have the latest firmware available from Samsung for your player.

My parents just brought home a Blu-ray player, it was a floor model without a remote (cuz the ppl lost it) and we hooked it up, and now, we try to watch the movie, it gets to the Title Screen, and, it doesn’t play -_-

I am basically trying to fiugre out how to run digital audio for all the components. Please help.

You can do it yourself:
1. Switch on the unit.
2. Remove any discs.
3. Wait for “No Discs” message.
4. Press “Repeat” on the remote control (not “Repeat A-B”)
5. Type 57538 followed by region number(9 = Multi Region mode).
6. Press OPEN/CLOSE on the remote control.
7. Switch unit off.
8. Enjoy.
(This only works for DVDs, though.)
Oh, and to the first answer, Region coding was NOT introduced to prevent piracy - it was introduced by the film companies to make them more money. This is why 99% of all DVD players have a manufacturers built-in hack - they don’t agree with region coding any more than the public do…
