Home Theater in a box are not a flexible system and most of the time you can not add other equipment to it. They don’t provide much power and the speakers are low quality. The only Home Theater system I like is the Onkyo HT-S6200 for $600, it is a separate 7.1 receiver capable of True HD in Dolby and DTS along with 7.1 speaker system. All you need is to add a blu-ray disc player to make it complete. Go online to Home Theater magazine and read reviews on all products that might interest you. Hope this will help you out.

I Have An Onkyo Sr505 Receiver And A Samsung Bd-p3600 Blu-ray. I Get Sound But (almost) No Picture. Help!?

I have Satellite in HDMI 1 port, blu-ray in HDMI 2 port. When powering up blu ray I get the Samsung background image, but then lose the picture all together but get full sound. When I switch the HDMI inputs, I can see the satellite picture through the 2 port, and when I hook the blu-ray direct to the TV I get the picture. I’m using a Rocketfish HDMI cable. So both input ports work, the blu-ray works, and I’ve got a good cable. Can anyone help me?
